°• It's mid October. The foliage is peaking and the veil is starting to thin. While the tourists flock to the Salem crowds, you find yourself in a woodland town in a historic 1800's home on a cool morning. The fire is burning and you are among a circle of safe, warm hearted women who are there for the same reason as you: to reconnect with yourselves, the changing season, and earth based practices. To relearn what already lives within your bones, skills your ancestors once knew. You settle in and spend the day learning to make your own herbal medicines, how to weave a traditional broom-corn broom, and how to make witches torches from dried plants. You hear stories of folklore and history, and fill up on nourishing Autumn foods, cider, and tea. You depart 6 hours later, just a couple hours before sunset, with full hands and a full heart. You have new connections and a new outlook on the darker months that lie ahead. °• If this speaks to you, then it's no coincidence that you've somehow found this post. Wow! We hit 1k followers yesterday. Somehow a huge number and simultaneously a humble number amongst this crazy platform. I am wildly grateful to *you*, for following along, messaging me with herb pics and questions, referring your loved ones, your bookings, your trust, your class sign ups,.. everything! Rootbloom has really grown from a dreamy idea into something REAL over the last couple years and that's in part because of YOU. Cheers to what's ahead! 💫🥂

In this last few days I've attended two different networking events. One more formal with a panel (like above) and one more flowy-come and go as you please. Both? Magic. Chatting with other women about thier ideas and perspectives fills me right up with inspiration. And specifically other women who are caretakers, birth companions, space holders, those who are known to 'mother the mother'.. THAT'S my favorite. THAT'S what we should all have access to when navigating big life transitions. **...and when we gather and connect, local women and mothers have access to a pool of providers who know and trust each other.. who refer out with confidence and bring better care to the community BECAUSE OF community.** Thank you @saltwater_doulas and @seana_williamson @thenbptstudio for wonderful events this past week. Your massage is an honoring. A sacred time and space. As I dance around the table, I am guided by intuition and empathy. Your aching soul rests and you settle into this offering, finding reprieve from weeks, months, years? of exhaustion and neglect. You are fully deserving and worthy of this time. You have gifted yourself the chance to tune out the rest of the world for a while, and turn inwards. Allowing someone else to care for you- to hear you- and to hear what you may not have words for but your body knows how to communicate. I openly listen. You give yourself permission to receive, receive, receive, so that you can rest- And then... You carry on.

As women, we're inherently creative. It has been said that our creative force comes from the womb space (sacral chakra area) and this doesnt only apply to those of us who have children. I often hear women say that they feel a sense of emptiness, longing, and flatness when they're not processing, creating, or bringing something to life. As women, we may birth children, yes. But we also birth life into relationships, writing, design, cooking, coaching, justice, class creation, gardening, business, animal rescue, fashion, management, etc etc etc... We are the mothers of what is born from our passions. If you feel stuck in your endeavors, place your hands over your lower belly/sacral chakra/womb space, or one hand over each ovary, whether you still have them or not, and then soften. Relax, breathe, and listen. Open yourself up to receive. When you connect with this space, you connect with your innate ability to create. And, if you haven't made room in your current life patterns for creativity and you've been feeling low, I encourage you to reignite the spark that an old hobby once gave you... or perhaps submerge yourself in something *new* that requires you to imagine and create with your hands. Let GO of outcomes and results. The goal is to feel alive in the process.

We did it you guys! The kids are back to school. Wether you're a stay at home or working parent, the last few weeks of Summer break can be TOUGH. Take a deep breath, down shift, and enjoy the quiet house... or, run around like a crazy person trying to get it all done while they're at school. Either way, definitely get yourself a massage this month. You absolutely deserve it.
